Project Details

The workshop demonstrated how science is used in order to solve crimes through fingerprinting, DNA analysis, drug analysis, and various other techniques. I created a lesson plan, PowerPoint, crime scene, and various stations for the students to learn about forensic science and then have a hands-on lesson on documenting a scene and processing evidence.

For the internship itself, I learned how to use a machine called a GC-MS. This machine analyzes a substance and then tells you what exactly is in the particular substance. I also learned how to do different color tests in order to pre-determine what kind of drug a particular substance might be.

Below are documents and pictures of my project.
